Death

Tonight I explained to Gillian why people die, their bodies are too sick/hurt to continue and she immediately said then they get a gravestone and I said yes. We discussed that everyone has a spirit that either goes to heaven (good people) or hell (bad people) and that your spirit is similar to a ghost but not scary. Spirits that go to heaven are angels; they get there with their wings. All dogs go to heaven (we discussed Peanut). Your spirit is the memories that your loved ones keep of you when you are no longer here that makes your spirit live on. We discussed Emma Grace’s Daddy and when I see Emma Grace she reminds me of her Daddy that brings memories which keeps his spirit alive. Then we needed to discuss that Gillian has Daddy’s eyes and Mommy’s nose and lips and they remind others of us through her (she was very intrigued on what she gets from where). We also discussed how we have Gabriel watching over us because he is an angel. We aren’t sure where the question came from; Gillian brought it up and was curious. I didn’t want to scare her or have her worry about people around us dying but I also wanted to be as truthful as possible.

Trick or Treat

We had a our annual gathering to trick or treat in our neighborhood. Craig and I enjoy having everyone over. I was informed by Gillian that next year we need to have games for all the kids to play...note taken!

Goblin Gallop

We took Gillian to the first ever Goblin Gallop...it was at an apple orchard and a costume wasn't required but practically all participates were dressed. It was a nice added event for the Halloween Holiday!

First Halloween Party

Gillian was invited to a Halloween party. She was very excited to go. It was a very nice situation. She was invited by a girl in her class and apparently when the girl's mother was young her parents did these parties for her so they were carrying on the tradition. I got Gillian all ready and of course had to get some pictures.

Pumpkin Patch

We decided to take Gillian to the pumpkin patch, this is something we have always enjoyed doing every year. This year we thought Gillian would be old enough to attempt the Corn Maze (which Craig and I had never attempted prior to this)....I'm not sure any of us were old enough to try. We spent about 2 hours in the maze and ended up coming back out the way we went in as we couldn't find any other way out.

After the Corn maze we decdied it was time to head back to the market to wait for the wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch. While waiting at the market we purchased some cookies to eat...YUMMY!

We ended up on a wagon with a bunch of college kids...college kids that were loud and had way too much spirit for our family. We tolerated them but I think they annoyed all 3 of us. Once at the pumpkin patch it didn't matter how annoying the college kids were...it was time to find the perfect pumpkin!

Ice Skating

Gillian has taken quite a liking to ice skating. She has gotten quite good at it too. She likes to use the bar only because she can go faster. She can skate on her own...she just has to go slow which isn't too fun to her.

Soccer

Gillian has found an activity that she definitely shows pride in....we hadn't really seen it prior to this year but she is definitely a fan of playing soccer. I loved soccer when I was in school and it makes me so happy to watch her enjoy it as I once did.

Trip Down South

Craig and I had a chance to go down to the Mississippi/Tennessee area with freinds for a weekend. It's a nice break for Craig and I to get away and it gives Gillian a break from us. We ate a lot of BBQ, saw our first cotton field, got some southern history and had tons of fun!
